Konstantine Khachapuridze has more than 20 years of professional experience in the environmental sector, with extensive expertise in environmental management, regulation, enforcement and supervision, as well as natural resource management. His career includes extensive experience across government institutions, private industry and environmental consulting.
Throughout his professional career Konstantine Khachapuridze has held managerial positions in various government institutions and organizations within Georgiaโs environmental sector. He worked at the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, where he headed the Integrated Environmental Control Service and was involved in the enforcement of environmental legislation, inspection and environmental monitoring processes. He also worked at the Natural Resources Management Agency where he was involved in issues related to the sustainable management of forests, wildlife and natural resources.
Currently, he serves as an Environmental Manager at the mining companies RMG Copper and RMG Gold, where he is responsible for environmental management systems, environmental monitoring, waste management, environmental planning and ensuring regulatory compliance. In parallel, he heads an environmental consulting company, where he coordinates environmental projects and expert activities.
Konstantine Khachapuridze has significant experience in internationally and donor-funded environmental projects. He has been involved in environmental programmes supported by USAID, UNEP/OCHA, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment of the Netherlands, the Czech Development Agency and other international partners. His work within these programmes has covered areas including waste management, environmental control and enforcement and institutional and professional capacity development.
His professional expertise encompasses a broad range of areas, including environmental governance and policy, enforcement of environmental legislation, environmental monitoring, waste management, sustainable use of natural resources, environmental auditing and ensuring the environmental compliance of industrial enterprises.
Konstantine Khachapuridze is also actively engaged in environmental education and professional development. He has extensive experience as a trainer and over the years, has delivered training programmes for environmental managers, including on waste management and environmental regulations.
He holds a Bachelorโs degree in International Law from the Tbilisi University of Law and Foreign Economic Relations, and a Masterโs degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Georgian Technical University.
