The goal of the Legal Committee is to support the legal needs of the committees and members of Georgiaโs Environmental Managers Association. The Committee provides legal assistance, consultations and advisory services and collects and analyzes information on sectoral legislation, regulations and best practices.
It monitors the enforcement of environmental legislation, prepares legal justifications for identified issues when necessary and participates in the development and advocacy of legislative amendment packages. The Committee also regularly prepares informational bulletins on legislative changes and supports Association members in judicial and administrative proceedings.
In addition, the Committee takes part in legislative drafting processes, public hearings and working groups and prepares reports on its activities for the executive and governing bodies of the Association.
