Levan Ozbetelashvili is an Environmental Manager and Environmental Expert with extensive professional experience in environmental regulations, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the environmental management and consultancy of large-scale infrastructure projects.
Currently, he serves as the Environmental Manager/Expert for two major infrastructure projects under implementation in Georgia. For the Anaklia Deep Sea Port Construction Project, implemented by โAnaklia Sea Portโ LLC, Levan Ozbetelashvili serves as the Lead Environmental Expert. For the Kakheti Highway Construction Project, implemented by โMaqro Constructionโ LLC, he serves as an Environmental Officer.
In previous years, Levan Ozbetelashvili also served as the Environmental Manager for one of the countryโs major large-scale development projects โ the construction of an artificial island in the Black Sea waters.
Levan is actively engaged in environmental consultancy, providing professional services to various companies in the areas of Environmental Impact Assessment, environmental permitting, environmental monitoring and the preparation of relevant environmental documentation.
For several years, Levan worked at the Environmental Assessment Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, where he also headed the EIA Scoping Division. In this capacity and in accordance with the responsibilities of his position, he was actively involved in Environmental Impact Assessment procedures and environmental permitting processes.
He also has professional experience in biodiversity and nature conservation and has participated in various international and national research projects in these fields. His experience in biodiversity conservation and nature protection also includes work at the Agency of Protected Areas, a Legal Entity under Public Law (LEPL), where he served as a Senior Area Ranger.
Levan holds a Bachelorโs degree in Ecology from Ilia State University and has completed numerous international professional training programmes in the fields of environmental safety, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and international environmental standards.
His scientific and research experience also includes approximately eight years of work at the Institute of Botany of Ilia State University, where he served as a Senior Laboratory Assistant.
