Nino Gvazava has more than 25 years of professional experience in the environmental sector. She has extensive experience working across the public, non-governmental, and academic sectors and has held senior and managerial positions at various stages of her career, both within projects implemented by international organizations and in public institutions.
In particular, she served as Director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre, a Legal Entity under Public Law (LEPL) of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. She also served within the same Ministry as Head of the Water Resources Division.
For many years, Nino Gvazava was actively involved in the management and implementation of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) projects in Georgia. She also served as an Environmental Adviser within energy development projects supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and coordinated a project of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Georgia.
She has extensive expert and consultancy experience with a range of international, financial and regional organizations, including the World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus), International Union for Conservation of Nature โ Caucasus Office (IUCN Caucasus), Deutsche Gesellschaft fรผr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). She has also participated in a number of scientific and research projects.
Nino Gvazavaโs professional expertise in the environmental field encompasses environmental governance and policy, climate change, water resources management, biodiversity conservation and environmental impact assessment.
Nino Gvazava holds a Masterโs degree in Biology from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She has also completed a Masterโs programme in Environmental Policy and Sciences at Central European University.
